Today’s Beach Volleyball Schedule

Beach volleyball was invented by William G Morgan in 1895. In 1915 Waikiki beach in Hawaii, the first Beach volleyball game got originated. The international sanctioning body for the sport is the Federation Internationale de Volleyball which organizes the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships since 1997 and the international professional circuit called the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour. Each nation conducts a domestic tour, some of which are FIVB-approved and some are not. The major national tour in Brazil is the FIVB-approved Brazilian Beach Volleyball Circuit which is sanctioned by the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation since 1991.

The tournament conducted annually during the summer in California is called the Manhattan Beach Open which is the only professional tournament for beach volleyball since 1960. In the Volleyball Walk of Fame, the winners of the tournaments are honored with the bronze volleyball-shaped plaques.
