When teams in the same group are tied, we employ a set of tiebreaking criteria designed to be fair and impartial. These criteria include points obtained in matches played among the tied teams, goal difference, and the highest number of goals scored. If needed, the same criteria are reapplied exclusively to the matches between the tied teams. If we fail to reach a clear decision, tiebreakers such as superior goal difference or the highest number of goals scored will be used. A team will obtain the highest number of away goals in all group matches. In the 2024–25 UEFA Nations League, teams will be ranked based on their disciplinary records in group matches. The accumulation of yellow and red cards will influence the number of points a team earns. Teams with fewer disciplinary points will secure higher rankings. Tied teams’ points and goals scored in matches will determine the tiebreakers. If ties persist, the tiebreaking procedure will continue for the remaining tied teams.
Are there any restrictions?
Armenia and Azerbaijan should be kept separate for political reasons. Regarding Kazakhstan’s grouping with England, Iceland, Ireland, or Wales, travel restrictions, such as visa requirements and travel bans, significantly limit the teams’ options and may affect their performance.
