The Hungarian Grand Prix returns again, with Marco Bezzecchi dominating this season with his consistent wins. The Hungarian GP is one of the recurring Grand Prix events in the MotoGP calendar. Known for its scenic beauty, the Balaton park Circuit will host this race on June 07, 2026 (Sunday).
As the race unfolds, fans are already excited about Bezzecchi’s appearance at Balaton Park. Bezzecchi’s 2026 campaign is surprisingly consistent, and he continues to stay at the top. Followed by Jorge Martin, who has gotten frequent podiums this season.
On the other hand, the MotoGP superstars like Marc Marquez, Pecco, and Ogura are not making much progress. Particularly, the six-time premier class champion Marc Marquez’s form declined after his injury from the previous season. But Pecco looks fine, who just needs to regain his old form. Let’s look at the detailed preview of the upcoming MotoGP Hungarian GP.
Italian GP Highlights
The Italian GP 2026 is a remarkable race of this season. It has unending moments of suspense throughout the race due to unpredictable takeovers. Notably, the Japanese rider, Ai Ogura, finished in 4th position, starting from the 13th position. Pecco got the P1 after a long time, showing old form, but lost it to Bezzecchi and Martin. Fans were deeply rooting for Bagnaia’s comeback, but he disappointed with a 3rd position finish. Lastly, the tri-fold drama among Marc, Fermin, and Acosta in the 8th lap drew heavy attention amid the leading-position drama.
Marco Bezzecchi’s Dominance
Aprilia rider, Marco Bezzecchi, finishes first for the 4th time, and this is his 6th podium. He started from the pole position and had a tough competition from Francesco Bagnaia. Bagnaia held his lead and fended off several takeover attempts. However, Marco Bezzecchi took a decisive overtake that earned him his first Mugello win. He described the win as indescribable and felt a deep relief given the pressure to win at home.
Francesco (Pecco) Bagnaia’s Resurgence
Bagnaia started from the 6th position on the grid and raced past Bezzecchi on the third lap. With Pecco in the front, Bezzecchi and Martin battled to capture the lead. Bezzecchi took the lead on the 14th lap in the right corner, which ultimately changed the leading positions. Shortly after that, Pecco battled Jorge Martin for the second position on the 16th lap. In a sweeping right corner, Jorge Martin overtook Pecco and captured the second position. However, Bagnaia kept his 3rd position and finished third.
MotoGP Hungarian GP – Balaton Park Circuit Info
Balaton Park Circuit is Hungary’s most sought-after motorsport venue, located near Lake Balaton. This circuit was opened in 2023 and has hosted major European motorsports and MotoGP events. Extending up to 4.08 Km, this circuit has 17 corners; 7 right corners and 10 left corners. This gives back-to-back overtaking scenarios, particularly after the long straights.
It is a technically demanding circuit with multiple slow corners along with a dramatic hairpin turn. The long straights after the 4th and 17th corners have hard-braking zones at the end. This will result in volatile leading positions throughout the race. Mainly, the hairpin turn will test the riders’ stability and braking efficiency.
Currently, Marc Marquez holds major records in this circuit. He has the record for best pole, best race lap, all-time lap record, most wins, and most poles.

MotoGP Hungarian GP – Predictions for the Final Race
The MotoGP Hungarian GP holds unpredictable moments given the Balaton Park Circuit’s complexity. Balaton Park is one of the most technically demanding tracks, testing every aspect, including tire management, stability, and braking. Let’s look at the top three prospects to win in this MotoGP Hungarian Grand Prix.
1. Marco Bezzecchi
Marco Bezzecchi prefers hard and late braking, capitalizing on hard-braking zones. The Balaton Park Circuit has numerous slow corners and hard-braking zones. Especially, turn 11, which is a hairpin turn, will immensely benefit Bezzecchi’s riding style. His late braking allows him to keep his momentum stable and adds more duration while taking corners. He also excels at overtaking in sweeping corners and sustaining the lead. In addition, Bezzecchi has good tire management, giving him traction in the final laps. Coupled with his consistent run this season, Marco Bezzecchi is favored to win in this MotoGP Hungarian GP.
2. Jorge Martin
Jorge Martin arrives on the grid as an aggressive racer. He is explosively fast and tends to push the bike to its limits. His braking style is often dangerous as he takes an all-or-nothing approach. He excels in qualifying rounds and gets pole positions more often. Facing the hairpin turn at Balaton Park, Jorge Martin might lose positions or even get destabilized if he pushed hard. But in the slow corners followed by long straights, he can have overtaking chances. However, Balaton’s complex layout is a bit difficult for Jorge to reach and sustain P1, regardless of a pole-sitter start. So, Jorge Martin will finish in the second or even third position in this MotoGP Hungarian GP.
3. Fabio Di Giannantonio
Fabio Di Giannantonio is the third most consistent racer this season, who brings a methodical riding style. His braking style is considered unique and highly sensitive. He balances his front-tire traction to brake as needed, maintaining momentum and stability. So, he will have overtaking moments in the hairpin turn where most riders would struggle to maintain position. Fabio Di Giannantonio can be expected to at least secure a podium at the MotoGP Hungarian GP.
