Xander Zayas is a Puerto Rican boxer, fighting in the super-welterweight division. Currently, he is a unified champion, holding both the WBA and WBO titles. Zayas was interested in boxing from a very young age. At six, Zayas won his very first amateur bout and went on to the youth circuit. After being prolific in the youth circuit, Zayas went on to win the national title. Within 10 years, Xander Zayas achieved phenomenal success in his amateur career. Xander won the U.S. National Championships gold medal twice in 2017 and 2018. He finished his amateur career with an excellent record of 130-14 and decided to turn professional. He fought his first professional fight in 2019, against Genesis Wynn. He won the very first round via knockout, quickly establishing himself as a strong contender.

Professional Career

After his professional debut, Xander faced Virgel Windfield, beating him via technical knockout. In his third fight, he won over Corey Champion via decision. He continued to win bouts, mostly via stoppages. In 2022, he faced Elias Espadas for the vacant WBO-NABO super-welterweight title. He ultimately won the title after finishing the fight in 5 rounds. In his next fight against Alexis Salazar, he defended his WBO-NABO super-welterweight title and won the vacant WBC-NABF super-welterweight title. Xander Zayas retained the title six times before winning the vacant WBO super-welterweight title. Ultimately, he won the WBA super-welterweight title against Abass Baraou in January 2026.
