Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts jointly founded the Masters Tournament. It has become reshaped by its traditions, such as the Green Jacket, the Champions Dinner, and the Par 3 Contest.
Throughout the decades, the Masters Tournament has achieved a milestone winning streak from 1934 to 1958. Later, Jack Nicklaus recorded six titles, including his unforgettable comeback in 1986. Nicklaus, Palmer, and Woods have left fast marks on the event’s history in golf. Format
The Masters Tournament spans four days, from Thursday to Sunday, with 72 holes of stroke play. During the early-week practice days, players participate in practice rounds and the traditional par-3 game. All players compete in rounds 1 and 2 of the Masters Tournament. Following 36 holes, only the top 50 players and ties advance to the weekend. In the final rounds 3 and 4, the balanced players battled for the green jacket.
In the play-off rule, if there is a tie after 72 holes, a sudden-death playoff starts on Augusta’s 18th hole. It continues until a winner is found. Augusta National is famous for its Amen Corner (holes 11-13), where many tournaments are won or lost. A selection of the player field typically includes past champions, top-ranked golfers, and a select group of amateur players.
