Tennis fans are busy in many local tournaments while supporting their front-runner players. A Grand Slam season consists of four tournaments in 2026. The French Open will be the second major of the year and will run from 18 May to 7 June 2026. The Roland Garros will mark its 125th edition and its 96th Grand Slam tournament. For the first time, the 2026 French Open players will use the connected devices known as the Whoop bands.
The Grand Slam tournament history will permit these connected devices to interact with players. The players will access these devices for a broader range of performance-related information during competition. The French Open 2026 includes singles, doubles, wheelchair events, and junior events. Fans can expect many of their favorite players to chase a grand slam title.
Grand Slam Special Features at Roland Garros 2026
This year, the French Open plans to host many more special events at the Grand Slam. A celebration in honor of Carolina Garcia is allotted at Court Philippe-Chatrier, between the Women’s Singles semifinals. Garcia was a former World No. 4 in 2025 and completed her professional career. The event will also feature a tribute to Althea Gibson, celebrating the 70th anniversary of her 1956 French Open titles. This ceremony will take place on May 26, 2026.
Winning the singles title, Gibson becomes the first woman to clinch a Grand Slam singles event. The French Open organizers have announced their plans to honor Stan Wawrinka for his final match at Porte d’Auteuil. He won the 2015 title, finished as runner-up in 2017, and will make his final appearance at Roland Garros in 2026. Similarly, Gaël Monfils will be honored because of his final appearance at the tournament.
