The Catalan GP had a great ending. Marc was stunned as his streak was broken by his brother Alex. It was a surprise, but expected. We all know how great the duo/rival the Marquez brothers are. They both literally rule the 2025 MotoGP tours in the standings. As Alex Marquez is just behind Marc in the standings, the Catalan GP has influenced it. It cost Marc some points and rewarded Alex with some. However, the difference is not huge, and Alex is still below Marc with a 182-point difference. For MotoGP fans, we have the upcoming MotoGP Grand Prix of San Marino at the famous Misano World Circuit. As Marc’s winning streak broke, the upcoming MotoGP will be an intriguing drama where the Marquez brothers fight each other for the P1. Let’s see what is ahead. Let’s Take a Look at the Catalan GP
Dethroning Marc Marquez
On Sunday, the MotoGP Grand Prix at Catalunya saw a turning point in the 2025 campaign. As soon as the lights turned green, riders flew past towards the turns. The track congested the riders near the starting grid with the first turn. As usual, Marc headed the race and sustained. However, on the 4th lap, Alex Marquez took the lead with his Gersini Ducati GP24 and maintained it until the end. At the end of the 21st lap, Marc was still trailing behind Alex. Alex’s victory was etched in the Catalan GP with only two laps remaining. As we said before, Marc had some difficulties on his home track. He has almost a love-hate relationship. This rivalry was the most highlighted of the week, which made headlines over Marc’s broken winning streak. Moreover, elite racers like Bezzecchi, Morbidelli, and Bagnaia were disappointed and went unnoticed. Check out our exclusive sports news.
Dramatic Takeovers
Pedro Acosta foreshadowed a possible threat behind as the Marquez brothers’ rivalry heightened the drama in the leading positions. Acosta was a solid contender with consistent results, notably his second-place podium at the Hungarian GP. So, we had high expectations for his follow-up. He even hinted at a possible podium. However, his intentions took a dramatic turn in the 11th lap. Pedro Acosta saw a dip, and Enea Bastianini overtook Acosta with his KTM. The reason for his struggle was Acosta’s choice of a soft rear tire. It gave him an initial rise, but it became excessively worn. So, Pedro Acosta could not sustain his lead after the second half, finishing the race in 4th. The Spaniard believed he could manage the tire wear, but it happened sooner than he expected. Now, he is determined for the upcoming MotoGP Grand Prix of San Marino as he has learnt from failure.
Enea Bastianini’s First Podium
The Red Bull KTM Tech3 team saw its resurgence with Enea Bastianini’s first Grand Prix podium in 2025. After overtaking Pedro Acosta, Enea Bastianini was determined to reach position 1. However, the continuous turns and leading Marquez brothers kept him behind. This win was significant for Enea as his season started very poorly. It showed a mid-season breakthrough for both Enea and his team, KTM. Despite starting from 9th place, Enea came up with a strong performance. Enea quickly jumped into the 4th place after starting from ninth place, showing his potential for podiums. After shadowing his teammate, Enea saw a chance on lap 11 and overtook. When Acosta braked in turn 1, Enea secured the third position and sustained the podium spot till the finish. Let’s see how San Marino goes. What to Expect in the MotoGP Grand Prix of San Marino?
After Alex’s win at the Catalan Grand Prix, Marc was prevented from winning the championship at Misano. Even though Marc still has more points, a decisive win is crucial in San Marino. On the other hand, it’s a home circuit for Francesco Bagnaia, known as Pecco. After a disappointing early exit in the previous season at the same track. Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia was filled with resentment. Now he has a solid determination to get it back this time. So, we can expect Francesco Bagnaia to make a comeback at San Marino. The Misano World Circuit is a well-known adversary for braking technique. Notably, turn 8 reduces substantial speed and duration. It features predominant right corners and is one of the tracks with a small straight. So, the circuit might constantly give corner takeovers and close encounters. Therefore, this MotoGP Grand Prix of San Marino will be dramatic.

Track Conditions
As said earlier, the Misano World Circuit will extremely test riders’ braking skills. It is known for being technically demanding with numerous turns.

Red Bull Grand Prix of San Marino and The Rimini Riviera – Preview & Predictions
Marc Marquez
Marc Marquez’s style interacts uniquely with San Marino’s technical demands. Misano is a medium-speed circuit that requires rapid direction changes and low-speed acceleration. It also requires a high mid-corner stability. This will challenge Marc’s ability to maintain consistency. His famous late-braking style allows him to pick up speed after the exits quickly. He also has a unique elbow-down technique for maximum lean. At Misano’s varying grip levels, his technique will allow Marc to overtake and defend vigorously. After all, Marc Marquez has the most wins in this circuit. Therefore, Marc Marquez is assured of getting a 1st place podium in the Grand Prix of San Marino 2025.
Alex Marquez
In contrast to Marc, Alex has a tactical riding style that effectively manages tire management. He also has a late-braking style and smooth exits that will match Misano’s rhythm. His recent form shows tactical intelligence and great tire management. We can expect Alex Marquez to use his consistency and technical prowess to stay within the lead group. Given his consistent form across recent races, Alex might get to the podium with a 2nd place this time.
Pedro Acosta
Pedro Acosta brings an aggressive and late-braking style just like the other two. But he spent the 2025 season learning to get rhythm in the corners. He has yet to adapt from hard-stopping to smoother arcs. In the Grand Prix of San Marino, Acosta’s knack for pushing KTM’s strengths in acceleration will keep him in the front. But his tire management is a concern that cost him a podium in the last race. If he tactically manages the tire wear, he can get to the podium this time.
