What’s New in the F1 2026 Season?

Formula One has several recent updates. Several top drivers have signed lengthy contracts. Max Verstappen and Lando Norris have signed contract extensions that will keep them in Formula 1 through 2030. Verstappen signed a long-term contract extension with Red Bull Racing, keeping him with the team through 2030. Similarly, Norris signed a long-term contract extension with McLaren that runs until 2030.

The 2026 Italian GP will feature Ferrari’s special tribute to Michael Schumacher, along with updates to its power unit. Ferrari will honor Michael Schumacher at the Italian Grand Prix.

Past Formula One Rivals

Lando Norris finished first for McLaren with a 2:04:44.859. He earned 25 points and is a consistent performer in Formula 1. Kimi Antonelli finished in second position for the Mercedes team. He earned 18 points with a time difference of +11.536s. His teammate George Russell claimed a win in third place for Mercedes. He earned 15 points for his third-place finish. Furthermore, Lewis Hamilton overtook his teammate Charles Leclerc to claim fourth place for Ferrari.

Leclerc finished fifth for Ferrari and earned 10 points. Oscar Piastri and Liam Lawson finished in sixth and seventh position for McLaren and Red Bull Racing, respectively. Piastri earned eight points, while Lawson collected six points. Nico Hülkenberg finished eighth for Audi, one lap behind the race leader. Hülkenberg earned four points for his eighth-place finish. Fernando Alonso overtook Pierre Gasly to clinch ninth position for Aston Martin.

Pierre Gasly finished 10th for Alpine in the previous race and earned one point. Yuki Tsunoda and Arvid Lindblad finished 11th and 12th, respectively, for Racing Bulls. Tsunoda and Lindblad completed one lap behind the race leader. Gabriel Bortoleto finished 13th for Audi, one lap behind the race leader. Franco Colapinto finished 14th for Alpine, with two laps behind the race leader. Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz finished 15th and 16th, respectively.

Max Verstappen crashed out on lap 2 and was forced to retire from the race. The Red Bull racing team was very disappointed by his early exit in the previous race.  Oliver Bearman suffered a Ferrari power unit failure and retired from the race. Esteban Ocon retired later after suffering the same Ferrari power unit failure as his teammate. Valtteri Bottas retired due to hydraulic issues, while Lance Stroll suffered unidentified mechanical or technical issues. Alexander Albon retired after colliding with his teammate Carlos Sainz. Albon’s retirement towards the end of the race was a setback for the team.
