In his early years, Smith trained on and off, but at 16, he decided to give boxing his all. He was a member of Poole ABC and racked up an amateur record of 32 wins and 11 losses. In his amateur career, Smith fought in several ABA Championships and reached the final twice. These victories and defeats were crucial in shaping him for the step up to the professional ‍‌‍‍‌level.

He successfully defended the belt in August 2020, stopping Nathan Thorley in the second round. Thus, he was able to stay among the best in Britain in the cruiserweight division.

British, European, and Commonwealth Cruiserweight Champion (2021–2023)

Billam-Smith’s career got a significant boost in July 2021 when he narrowly beat Tommy McCarthy by split decision in a bout. He successfully retained three cruiserweight titles: the British, European, and Commonwealth titles. He rounded off his European campaign with a crushing, unanimous decision over Dylan Bregeon in his very first European title defense.

Later in 2022, he defeated McCarthy in their rematch by knockout and went on to beat Isaac Chamberlain by unanimous decision. Thus, he secured his position among the division’s top fighters.

Professional Career

Debut Era (2016–2019)

In October 2016, Rozicki fought his first professional match and earned a third-round KO over Donald Willis. WBC International Cruiserweight Controversy (2022)

Rozicki got back to the ring in 2022 to take on Yamil Peralta for the WBC International Cruiserweight title. The fight left fans with a bitter taste as Rozicki was declared the winner by a split decision. Later, the WBC reviewed the fight, and the winner was supposed to be Peralta. The championship was vacant after that, with Rozicki getting applauded not only for his sportsmanship but also for his acceptance.

Return to the Ring (2026–Present)

Rozicki was away from fighting for over a year before making a triumphant return in March 2026. He beat Gerardo Mellado with a second-round TKO and showed off his potential. He proved why he is the top contender in the cruiserweight and bridgerweight ‍‌‍‍‌divisions.

Who Wins Billam-Smith vs Rozicki?

This‍‌‍‍‌ bout can be seen as a dramatic encounter between the technical expertise and experience of a champion. Chris Billam-Smith’s fierce aggressiveness meets Ryan Rozicki, who has devastating knockout power.

Billam-Smith has defeated quality opponents such as Richard Riakporhe, Isaac Chamberlain, Dylan Bregeon, and Brandon Glanton. Generally, Smith is more of a technician boxer than a pure knockout puncher.

Rozicki has been a knockout artist, with a fantastic knockout ratio. He has repeatedly proved that it takes only one punch to decide a fight in his career. Rozicki is a powerful striker with 21 stoppages, yet he hasn’t faced as many top-quality opponents as Billam-Smith.

Billam-Smith should survive Rozicki’s initial assault and avoid his powerfully delivered punches. So that Smith would be in a strong position to control the fight. With his higher level of experience and skill, he should be able to outbox the Canadian throughout the ten rounds.

The pick: Chris Billam-Smith via Unanimous Decision (UD)
