The 2025 PDC World Darts Championship will see 96 top players compete in a rigorous format of sets and legs, with double outs required. Each match is a skill test, culminating in a thrilling finale to crown the best.

All matches in the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship will follow these rules:

  • Players must score 501 points to win a leg, finishing on a double.
  • Matches are in a set format, with a minimum of three sets to win.
  • Sets are best of five legs in the first round and non-deciding sets of subsequent rounds.
  • Deciding sets (except in the first round) requires a player to win three legs with a two-leg lead. If tied 5–5, a sudden-death leg decides the set with no throw for the bull.

These rules ensure precision and excitement in every match!

Prediction

The 2025 PDC World Darts Championship started with the evening session of the first match of the first and second rounds only, so let’s discuss the upcoming event.

Thibault Tricole vs. Joe Comito

The 2025 PDC World Darts Championship play between Thibault Tricole and Joe Comito participated in the first round of the first set in the Darts on December 15, 2024, at Alexandre Palace in London, England.

Thibault Tricole, France’s top darts player, is gaining media attention. He’s shown resilience and a strong mental game in his second PDC World Championship. However, darts’ limited popularity in France means fewer sponsorships. Eliminated in the second-round last year, he faces pressure to advance further this time in the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship.

Joe Comito is an Australian newcomer who won two events in the 2024 Dart Players Australia season and earned a spot in the 2025 PDC World Championship. With experience in three World Series qualifiers, he’s gaining international exposure. However, as a debutant, he faces intense pressure to perform well and advance. Brilliant Luke Humphries will kick off his 2025 PDC World Championship campaign in the second round, facing either Thibault Tricole or Joe Comito after their first-round match in 2025 PDC World Darts Championship.

Jermaine Wattimena vs. Stefan Bellmont

Jermaine Wattimena will face Stefan Bellmont on December 15, 2024, at Alexandre Palace in London, England, in the second match of the first round of the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship.

Jermaine Wattimena is from the Netherlands and has been a prominent figure in Dutch darts. He Is nicknamed “The Machine Gun ” and has consistently improved, reaching the 2024 European Championship finals. Despite his experience, he hasn’t yet won major televised PDC titles and faces pressure to convert strong performances into wins.

Conversely, Stefan Bellmont, the first Swiss player in the PDC World Darts Championship, shows steady improvement and strong performances. However, he has yet to win a significant televised PDC title and faces early exits and pressure to advance. Both players had impressive runs, but Wattimena’s track record in substantial tournaments gives him a slight edge in his winning streak.

Kim Huybrechts vs. Keane Barry

On December 15, 2024, Kim Huybrechts clashed with Keane Barry at Alexandre Palace in London, England, for the third match of the first round in the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship.

Kim Huybrechts, from Belgium, is a prominent figure in Belgian darts. He has shown strong, consistent performances in major tournaments, gaining valuable experience. He’s advocated for fairer World Championship conditions. Despite facing early exits and not winning a major televised PDC title, there’s pressure to convert his strong showings into wins. Can he break through this year?

Keane Barry is from Ireland; he has shown impressive performances and is gaining recognition as a promising player. He reached the semifinals of the 2022 UK Open, highlighting his potential. Barry has a good track record against top players, including victories over Kim Huybrechts. Barry had a slow start to 2024, struggling to win matches in early tournaments. As a young player, he faces pressure to maintain his form and advance in major tournaments. He has faced early exits in some tournaments, indicating room for improvement. Kim Huybrechts will secure a victory in their upcoming 2025 PDC World Darts Championship.

Luke Humphries

For the second round (fourth match) in the 2025 PDC Worlds Darts Championship, Luke Humphries will be waiting for an enthusiastic darter coming from the first round of the first match on December 15, 2024, at Alexandre Palace in London, England.

Luke Humphries, hailing from England, is a name to watch in darts. He’s consistently performed high, racking up multiple titles, including the Grand Prix, European Matchplay, Grand Slam, and Players Championship. With an average of around 99.61, his gameplay is top-notch. Despite the moments of pressure in the World Matchplay final, his rise to stardom speaks volumes. However, compared to legends like Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen, Humphries continues to prove himself. In 2024, he won five of the seven ranking TV titles, including the prestigious World Championship, and is currently ranked World No. 1. Luke Humphries will be aiming for a back-to-back World Championship title in the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship; he’s someone to keep an eye on. Are you rooting for Luke Humphries, or do you have another favourite player?
