We are vibrantly following the CSK fans club, and not only all well-admired teams are participating to view the proximity of sight. The 2024 Indian Premier League, also known as IPL 17, is branded as TATA. IPL 2024 will be the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League, a right-to-vote Twenty20 Cricket League in India, conducted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The tournament will feature ten teams and will take place from March 22, 2024, to May 26, 2024.

In IPL 2024, which starts with the 17th season of this year, the total number of league matches is 74, and ten teams will be involved. The 2024 season curtain-raiser will witness a blockbuster clash as the reigning champions of the IPL will start on March 22, when Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. IPL 2024 will be played in a double-round-robin format. BCCI is planning to establish IPL 2024 on March 22. The schedule will be announced in two halves. The schedule for the first half was announced, and then the schedule for the other half is likely to be announced after the announcement of general election dates.

After an intense season, with MS Dhoni-led CSK winning five championship titles. Two teams—the Mumbai Indians—whose last title came to take were victories in 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019. CSK comes into the 2010–2011, 2018–2021, and 2023 titles. The 2024 season will see plenty of intriguing narratives. Rishabh Pant making his much-awaited return from injury for the Delhi Capitals, Hardik Pandya taking over the captaincy of the Mumbai Indians franchise from Rohit Sharma after MI acquired his services in the off-season from the Gujarat Titans, and Shubman Gill taking over the reins of the Gujarat franchise. In a mind-boggling turn of events, Devon Conway had been ruled out of IPL 2024, and Australian all-rounder Pat Cummins had been made the captain of Sunrises Hyderabad.

Format of the IPL 2024

  • In this stage, the top two teams compete with each other in a match titled “Qualifier 1”, as do the remaining two teams in a match titled “Eliminator”.

Prediction:

Punjab Kings (PBKS) vs. Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

The upcoming clash between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings in round 53 of the IPL 2024 showdown is not just another game. This is a high-stakes battle, scheduled for May 5, 2024, at 3.30 p.m. at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamshala. It’s a make-or-break moment for both teams as they make an effort to secure a spot in the playoffs. The intensity and anticipation surrounding this match are palpable, adding to the thrill of the game.

Pivotal Players:

  • For PBKS, the trio of Shikhar Dhawan, Jonny Bairstow, and Shashank Singh will be the ones to watch as they aim to score big against CSK. Dhawan, a seasoned campaigner, is expected to bounce back with a strong performance, while Bairstow’s recent form, with impressive scores of 108 and 46 in the last two innings, is a promising sign. Shashank, the most consistent batter for PBKS, has been a standout performer.
  • On the CSK side, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, and Daryl Mitchell are the top batters to watch. Gaikwad’s score of 62 in the last game is a testament to his current form and potential impact on the game.

Prediction:

PBKS is currently riding high on confidence after securing back-to-back wins in the previous matches, a feat they achieved for the first time this season. They have dominated their last two games, defeating KKR and CSK. The team eagerly awaits Shikhar Dhawan’s return for this crucial clash. Sikandar Raza’s departure to lead Zimbabwe in the T20 series against Bangladesh has opened up an opportunity for Shashank, who has been a stellar find for PBKS. He has been the driving force behind PBKS’s hopes of making it to the playoffs, consistently scoring 288 runs this season at a strike rate of nearly 170. With four wins in ten games, PBKS is in a must-win situation to stay alive in the upcoming matches.

On the other end, CSK Mustafizur Rahman has left for Bangladesh. Also, there needs to be a clear update on Matheesha Pathirana, who picked up an injury ahead of the previous game. CSK could replace Richard Gleeson with Pathirana if he is fit. Mitchell Santer can replace Mustafizur Rahman, and Rachin Ravindra can be used in place of Moeen Ali. Deepak Chahar is also not fit, and there is a high chance of him getting replaced by Tushar Deshpande. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 62 against PBKS in the previous game. He scored 98 against SRH and 108 against LSG as well. Gaikwad has peaked at the right moment, and CSK will need him to be at the top of his prowess against PBKS to win. CSK has run out of gas in the last few games. The team has lost three out of the previous four games and is in fifth place in the IPL standings. Hence, the CSK will undoubtedly grab a victory.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) vs. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

On 54 rounds of the Lucknow Super Giants, they get together in the conflict among Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL playoffs. The matchup is fixed to be on May 5, 2024, at Ekana Sports City, Lucknow.

Pivotal Players:

  • LSG side KL Rahul, the opener, hit three fours and a six in the last game and is playing a more attacking role this year. He produces consistent scores year in and year out.
  • Venkatesh Iyer, a 29-year-old left-hander. He took the “Player of the Match” award in the last game after rescuing his side with 70 runs from 52 balls for the KKR team.

Prediction:

LSG have won six of their ten games and are standing third in the rankings after taking great care not to rush him back too early. Mayank Yadav could not complete his fourth over in the last match, and it is believed that he has suffered an abdominal muscle tear, which is expected to keep him out for the remainder of the IPL 2024 season. This team’s top player, West Indian left-hander Pooran, hit the winning runs over MI and is averaging 61 with a strike-rate of 160.52 in this campaign. Stoinis took the “Player of the Match” award in the last game in Lucknow. LSG comes into this match in strong form after winning three of their previous four games.

KKR have had a great start to this season and are currently standing second to only RR on the points standings in the IPL. Shreyas Iyer was in a very positive mood and was on hold after seeing his side win without playing their best. Phil Salt, the English keeper-batter, has been excellent so far and will be keen to produce something in this match after being dismissed by the fourth ball. Venkatesh Iyer, Phil Salt, and Sunil Narine are our tips for KKR regarding the bat. Although he had a brutal campaign, Narine has only made eight, 15, and ten in three of his last four innings. Thus, we expect him to contribute considerably at the top of the order again in this game. Salt hit 89 not out from 47 balls in the last head-to-head with LSG and took the “Player of the Match” award. KKR have won their previous two games and three of their last four in this IPL. So, we are backing the Kolkata Knight Riders, who have played to a slightly higher standard so far, to triumph in this game.
